Lan’s Chili Oil recipe was a family secret passed down over many generations and was first used commercially in Richmond’s Szechuan Hot Pot & Dry Pot restaurant (Shun Xin Yuan.) Over twenty traditional ingredients gave it the authentic taste and complexity of flavours that made it an immediate hit with restaurant patrons, who clamored for it to be made available for use in their own home cooking. Thus, Lan’s Vegan Chili Sauce was launched as a commercial product.
